From the long nights of February through the dog days of August, seven months of wizardry finally yielded the completed form. Lest ye forget what unclean Chaos gripped the land lo those many moons ago, study this visual proof of miraculous transformation, from then to now:

Cranium II

Cranium

Two lobes right and left of the upper of two brains were enclosed in cranium of wood, metal, and sheet rock coated in greens.

Spinal Cord

Spindly spines in regular increments ascending were bound in tendons of steel drawn and tensed at length in triads times three and thus handrails were fashioned from a douglas fir tree.

Orifice

From the deepest chamber of the Folly’s innards was carved by steady surgeons hand an orifice opening into the Mother Vessel to channel life flows of bodies between the two.

Melanogenesis

Post-Purification, the Folly bathed in the rays of the July sun that incited melanogenesis to pigmented shades of brown.

With skeleton and skin complete, the Folly underwent Rites of Purification, cleansing and sealing outer form, readying it to welcome earthy hues.

Epidermis

After a week of epidermal alchemy at last the wedding of Skin and Bones was celebrated, just in time for Midsummer’s Eve blessings. Folly’s form was now distinct and clear, but the Devil was in the details still to come….

Sinews

Folly’s three-part Skin not yet complete, a system of Sinews was laid upon the black Dermis to adhere the Epidermis onto a grid of breathing braces and pockets — a most complicated Design deftly executed by the Master Builder and his Craftsmen. The Third Skin begins to grow. . . .
